We have officially started our countdown to Christmas! With just 2 months to go, we are starting to get our Christmas themed decorations out, getting our present list sorted as well as booking our children's Christmas activities and performances as well as Christmas family meals. Our aim this year is to be more organised and to get us in the mood we have been sent 4 themed candles from Yankee Candles under their Alpine Christmas Collection to showcase on our blog. After Sledding

This smell is gorgeous, imagine walking into your home and it smells of nothing but maple toffee and cinnamon, this is just the initial impression and top layer, when you get to the middle of the candle, it smells of salted caramel brulee and nutmeg and by the time you get to the bottom of it, it smells of vanilla bean and maple drizzle. It is almost like heaven in a jar if you are a huge foodie like us!   The scent is so warming, welcoming and a fine reminder that Christmas is on the way.  The candle as you can see comes in their traditional and signature classic jar design. Candlelit Cabin

I am in love with this scent! I think to me it is more of a bedroom or living room scent as it smells like rustic pine, warm spices and earthy feel to it. This candle also comes with three layers of smell, so the first layer smells of rhubarb, black peppercorn and apple while the middle layer gives out a nutmeg, magnolia and hazelnut scent. The final layer which is the base layer smells of vetiver, patchouli and amber. I felt so indulgent and this scent certainly put a smile on my face as it reminds me of winter! Evergreen Mist

I found that this scent was the mildest of the four yet made me feel so calming and peaceful. It made me float around the room and even transporting me to a place far away and as the name suggests to somewhere evergreen like a faraway land which is full of wonder.  The top layer of the candle smelled of douglas fir, orange zest and forest air while the middle smelled of evergreen bark and my favourite eucalyptus! The final base smelled of balsam, vanilla and pine. The candle as you can see comes in their traditional and signature classic jar design. Pomegranate Gin Fizz

I call this my bathroom fragrance, as there this reminds me of my luxurious and relaxing bath time where I have a glass of fizz, some music and nothing but some indulgent me-time in a bubble infused bath! The scent is a mix of all my favourite fruit flavours from citrus, cranberries to pomegranate all in a jar. The top layer smells of cranberry, sparkling pomegranate, fresh lime and orange while the middle smelled of juniper berry, rosemary, and gin. Finally, the base smelled of agave syrup and fruity musk.  The large jar provides 110 to 150 hours of true fragrance enjoyment (and we can easily tell you that it takes ages to finish one. of their candles so money well spent).  So if you want your room smelling of sparking holiday drink then Cheers to you!

How much does the Christmas Alpine Yankee Candles Cost and where can I purchase them?

The Alpine Christmas Yankee Candles comes in three sizes; small candles jars cost £8.99 and has a 20-30 hours burn time.  The medium candle jars cost £19.99 and have a 65-75 burn time while the large candle jars cost £23.99 and tend to have 110-150 burn time.  You can purchase them from their website here.

Here are some tips on how to care for your Yankee Candles

1. Trim your Wick
   Use their handy Wick Trimmer to keep your candle wick neat and tidy. Trim your wick to 3mm before each burn.
2. Use an Illuma-Lid Jar Candle Topper
   This is recommended as your candle's best friend! They look beautiful and help steady the flame for a clean, even burn. Choose your favourite design and use it with Yankee's Medium and Large Jar Candles.
3. Allow to Pool
   Let the top layer of wax liquefy and pool to the edges to avoid tunnelling. Wonder how long this should take? It is recommended, that for every 1cm in diameter, you burn for 30 minutes – so a Large Jar Candle would be 4 hours.
4. Protect your surfaces
   Use their decorative Candle Shades and Trays to prevent heat damage to your surfaces and encourage an even burn. Use with their Small, Medium and Large Jar Candles.
5. Use a Candle Snuffer
   Gently dowse the flame when you're done to prevent smoking and wax escaping the candle.
6. Know when to say goodbye
   Take note that once your candle wax is 1cm from the bottom; it's officially finished.  Time to choose another favourite to burn.
